1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the Maeve application ("Maeve", "the App", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
Maeve is operated by Maeve Technologies, Inc., a Delaware corporation. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Maeve Technologies, Inc.
2. Eligibility
Maeve is intended for use by adults aged 18 and over. By using Maeve, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. The App is designed for parents and caregivers to manage family organization. It is not intended for use directly by children.
If you are accessing Maeve from outside the United States, you are responsible for ensuring your use complies with any local laws and regulations applicable to you.
3. Description of Service
Maeve is an AI-powered family organizer application that provides:
- AI Weekly Planner — Sunday-generated personalized weekly plans built from your schedule, tasks, and commitments
- JustTellMaeve — natural language input with smart task routing
- Document Safe — secure storage for important reference numbers (Medicaid ID, EBT case number, WIC ID, Social Security Number, immunization records, and similar)
- Benefits Tracker — information on US federal and state benefit programs including SNAP, WIC, Florida KidCare, Head Start, LIHEAP, and others
- Family Contacts — one-tap access to doctors, teachers, daycare providers, and emergency contacts
- Weekend Ideas — free and low-cost family activities in your area
4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Maeve uses artificial intelligence — powered by Anthropic's Claude API — to generate personalized plans, suggestions, and information. You acknowledge and agree that:
- All AI-generated content is provided for organizational and informational purposes only. It does not constitute professional medical, legal, financial, nutritional, or welfare advice.
- The Benefits Tracker provides general program information only. Maeve makes no guarantee that you qualify for any benefit program. Eligibility criteria change. Always verify your eligibility directly with the relevant government agency or program administrator (such as ACCESS Florida or benefits.gov).
- You should not rely solely on Maeve's AI output when making decisions that affect your family's health, finances, or welfare.
- AI-generated suggestions may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Maeve Technologies, Inc. accepts no liability for decisions made based on AI output.
5. User Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information when setting up your account and family profile
- Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others
- Use Maeve only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, scrape, or exploit any part of the Maeve platform
- Not upload content that is unlawful, harmful, or violates any third-party rights
- Not use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair our servers or networks
6. Children's Data (COPPA)
Maeve is a tool for parents and caregivers. You may enter information about your children — including their names, ages, school schedules, and care arrangements — as part of family management. By doing so, you confirm that:
- You are the parent or legal guardian of any child whose data you input
- You consent to such data being processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy
Maeve does not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under the age of 13, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided data directly to Maeve without parental consent, please contact us immediately at hello@joinmaeve.com and we will delete it promptly.
7. Sensitive Information in Document Safe
The Document Safe feature allows you to store sensitive reference numbers such as Social Security Numbers, Medicaid IDs, EBT case numbers, and similar identifiers. You understand and agree that:
- You store such information at your own discretion
- Maeve applies reasonable security measures including encrypted transmission and Row Level Security in our database
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account login credentials
8. Intellectual Property
All content, features, branding, and technology within Maeve — including the Maeve name, logo, AI models, and underlying software — are the exclusive property of Maeve Technologies, Inc. and are protected by applicable US and international intellectual property laws.
You retain ownership of any personal data and content you input into Maeve. By using the App, you grant Maeve Technologies, Inc. a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your data solely to provide the service to you.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Maeve Technologies, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data or content
- Financial loss arising from reliance on AI-generated content or benefits information
- Service interruption or technical errors
- Any decisions made based on Maeve's suggestions or the Benefits Tracker
- Unauthorized access to your stored data resulting from your failure to secure your account
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Maeve shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) $50 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain types of damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Maeve is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy of any AI-generated content or benefits information.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Maeve Technologies, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of Maeve; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or third-party rights; or (d) any content you submit through the App.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct we determine to be harmful to other users or to Maeve. You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings. Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you via the App or by email to the address associated with your account at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Maeve after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Arbitration: Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Maeve shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. Arbitration shall be conducted in English. You and Maeve each waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
International users: If you are located outside the United States, you may have additional rights under your local law that cannot be waived by contract. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable mandatory local consumer protection laws, including rights under the EU Consumer Rights Directive or the UK Consumer Rights Act where applicable.
