1. Introduction
Maeve Technologies, Inc. ("Maeve", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use the Maeve app and related services.
Maeve is primarily operated for users in the United States. We also comply with applicable international privacy laws for users outside the US, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), and other applicable regional regulations.

3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Generate your AI weekly plan and personalized task suggestions each Sunday
- Route your natural language inputs (JustTellMaeve) to the correct feature
- Display relevant benefits information based on your family profile
- Send you app notifications and service-related communications

We do not use your personal information for advertising. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
4. AI Processing & Third-Party Service Providers
To provide Maeve's features, we share relevant data with the following third-party processors:
- Anthropic, Inc. (Claude API) — We send your family profile, task data, and scheduling information to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your weekly plan and process JustTellMaeve inputs. Anthropic processes this data in the United States. We have a Data Processing Agreement with Anthropic. Anthropic does not use your data to train its AI models. See Anthropic's privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy.
- Supabase, Inc. — Our database provider securely stores your account, family profile, tasks, documents, and benefits data. Supabase uses Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure your data is accessible only to you. We have a Data Processing Agreement with Supabase.
- Vercel, Inc. — Our hosting provider serves the Maeve web application. Vercel does not have access to your personal data stored in our database.
All third-party processors are contractually bound to process your data only as instructed by us and to maintain appropriate security standards. We do not authorize them to use your data for their own purposes.
5. Children's Data (COPPA)
Maeve is designed for parents and caregivers aged 18 and over. Parents may input data about their children as part of managing family logistics. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under the age of 13, in accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
When you input your child's information into Maeve, you are doing so as their parent or legal guardian, and you consent to that data being processed as described in this policy. We process children's data entered by parents solely to provide the family organization service — for example, to factor a child's school schedule into the AI weekly plan.
We do not share children's data with third parties for advertising or any non-essential purpose. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted data directly to Maeve without parental consent, contact us immediately at hello@joinmaeve.com and we will delete it without delay.
6. Sensitive Information
The Document Safe feature allows you to store sensitive reference numbers such as Social Security Numbers, Medicaid IDs, and EBT case numbers. We treat this data with heightened care. It is encrypted in transit (TLS), protected by Row Level Security in our database, and is never shared with third parties except as strictly necessary to provide the storage service.
We recommend using a strong, unique password for your Maeve account and enabling any additional authentication options available in the App.
7. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR — EU & UK Users)
If you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases under GDPR:
- Performance of a contract — to deliver the Maeve service you signed up for
- Legitimate interests — to improve our service, prevent fraud, and ensure security (where these interests are not overridden by your rights)
- Legal obligation — where required by applicable law
- Consent — for any optional uses such as marketing communications; you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing
Maeve Technologies, Inc. acts as the data controller for your personal data. Our third-party processors act as data processors on our behalf.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Restriction — request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time
California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at hello@joinmaeve.com.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@joinmaeve.com. We will respond within 30 days (or within the timeframe required by applicable law).
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it for a longer period or where we need it to resolve disputes or enforce agreements.
Anonymized or aggregated usage data that cannot identify you may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.
10. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously. Our security measures include:
- Row Level Security (RLS) on all database tables — your data is only accessible to your authenticated account
- Encrypted data transmission using HTTPS/TLS
- Secure authentication managed through Supabase Auth
- No personal data stored in application error logs
No system is entirely secure. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authorities as required by applicable law (within 72 hours under GDPR where required).
11. International Data Transfers
Maeve Technologies, Inc. is incorporated in the United States and our primary operations are US-based. Your data is stored and processed in the United States.
If you are located in the EU or UK, this means your data is transferred to a country outside the EEA/UK. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers, including reliance on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission and the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), and Data Processing Agreements with each of our processors (Anthropic, Supabase, Vercel).
12. Cookies & Local Storage
Maeve uses only essential cookies and local storage strictly necessary for the App to function — such as authentication session tokens and user preference settings. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or behavioral analytics tools.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you via the App or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect when the policy was last updated. Your continued use of Maeve after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
